Massoud Shiraz in the Charlotte Workshop
 | Art Restoration
We are committed to the preservation of art using principles of minimal
invasion while employing the most advanced materials and technologies.
As in the Hippocratic Oath, we pledge first to do no harm. The original
intent of the artist is the first concern.
After careful examination
of a painting’s condition, treatment might include
cleaning using the least invasive solutions, delicately scraping
away varnish, bonding of tears, edge linings, and removal of old
linings. If necessary, “inpainting” is
restricted to damaged areas.
As a professional associate of the American
Institute of Conservation, Shiraz is associated with the finest technical
resources, libraries and experts in the art world. Click on the “Documentary” box to view a short film produced by the Turner South
Network illustrating Shiraz’ restoration
work.
We have a studio in Charlotte (see pictures 1 & 2). We also
have a studio in Frankfurt, Germany (see picture 3) to provide services
for our international clients.
We provide museum quality conservation
to individual and corporate clients.
